Here's a note from Whitney Benjamin, the producer/creator/badass super mom:

"Let's come together to be well, unite and celebrate women's rights.

We are a collective of San Diego based female owned restaurants, businesses and volunteers coming together to host a bake sale, workouts, and yoga. Our goal is to celebrate and acknowledge the power of women coming together on this rather unique Inauguration Weekend, and all proceeds will benefit Planned Parenthood.

We choose peace, love and positive vibes so if you cannot bring any or all of those, please stay home.

We go high."

WHITNEY BENJAMIN'S WHY:
Planned Parenthood is an organization near and dear to my heart. Not only were they there for me as a young woman, my Aunt Connie was a key team member at the organization for the past 30 years, and having past recently I feel it is my duty to help carry out her legacy and fight for the right to care FOR ALL WOMEN. Aside from being a warm, witty and gentle soul, she was brilliant. She was appointed public affairs director for Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, N. and S. Dakota, in 1986 and served as chief lobbyist until her retirement in 2012. So this day for me is to thank Planned Parenthood for taking care of me, to thank my aunt for fighting for us all and most importantly to celebrate what it looks like when women WORK together for a better world.
